Pura Vida enjoys two different locations depending on the season:

In spring and autumn, you can sit in a small indoor room with an open kitchen in a familiar and casual atmosphere, or on a front terrace outdoors surrounded by a pleasant atmosphere with soft lighting and plenty of greenery.

In summer, you can dine under a centuries-old Ficus Benjamin, in the most important square of the historic centre, and enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience.

2017

Why the name Pura Vida?

Pura Vida is a term originating in Costa Rica.

Literally, it translates to "pure life" or "this is living," and the phrase can also be used as a greeting, a wish, or a way to say thank you. However, there is a much deeper meaning that Sara discovers and experiences firsthand during the wonderful experience of a three-month trip to Central America in 2017. There, where the pace of life is slower than in Europe and where even the response to everyday problems has a completely different aspect and attitude, Sara captures and falls in love with what Pura Vida is and wants to propose it overseas to the customer through the restaurant.

2019

When does Pura Vida start?

It was born in July 2019, from an idea of Sara Spina who at 27 decides to embark on a great adventure by leaving the family business: a renowned and generational fish market.

Sara treasures every personal and professional experience to give life to what is now the reality found at the Pura Vida Restaurant, where quality along with simplicity comes first.

2021

A new beginning

In May 2021, chef Marvelous Asemota joined the restaurant, immediately embracing the soul of the restaurant and bringing a breath of new and original flavours to the dishes, thus becoming one of the most appreciated and renowned chefs in the area.


The collaboration and synergy between the owner Sara and the chef over the years have turned into love and dedication for the establishment, offering their customers a sensory journey.
